'Power Couple' Sleeps on London Rooftop to Install Solar Panels for Neighbors
Dan Edelstyn and Hilary Powell slept on the roof of their North London home for three wintery weeks to raise awareness and money to install solar panels for their entire street. They call it the Power Station Project. With crowdfunding, supported by the publicity around the couple sleeping on the roof, they raised about $140,000 U.S. dollars. Dozens of homes on their street now have solar panels, and residents say they can see a financial difference.
