Sneak Preview Of Times Square New Years Ball Drop
December 30, 2025
Tomorrow night is New Year's Eve. There will be celebrations around the world, but perhaps nowhere bigger than that in New York City's Times Square. Inside Edition's Steven Fabian was there as the iconic ball drop got a test run. The first big New Year's celebration in Times Square was in 1907; on that occasion, the descending wooden ball contained 100 light bulbs. Today's ball, containing Waterford crystals, has more than 32,000 lights.
