Bill and Allison Cosens say they got a phone call saying their missing 11-year-old beagle-mix named Archer had been found. They say they were sent a photo of the dog being prepped for surgery with a wound. The couple says the caller identified himself as a vet and said Archer had been run down by a car. The owners were told the surgery would cost $2,746. They were willing to pay, but then they realized that some things did not add up.
