Dozens Of Unclaimed Remains Laid To Rest By Caring Strangers

Dozens of people were laid to rest in Iowa over the weekend. None of the deceased had family to see them off; all of these remains were unclaimed. A non-profit organization called Final Salute stepped in to help. The group enlists caring strangers to serve as friends and family, to give those who have passed a dignified farewell. One mourner remarked at the graveside, "This is our moment to acknowledge them, to ensure they are seen, heard, and remembered."
