Prison Quinceañera Allows Incarcerated Moms to See Their Daughters

A mass quinceanera is unusual, but not as unusual as the setting. This quince is happening in a Mexico CIty prison. The Alas de Amor Foundation organized this huge party for incarcerated women, so they can take part in this cultural and family event with their children. Quinceaneras mark a girl’s 15th birthday, a symbolic passage from childhood to adulthood in many Latin American and Caribbean countries.
