Why This New Jersey Town Celebrates Krampus, the Demon of Christmas

“A lot of people think of Krampus as, like, ‘the Christmas Devil,’ but that’s not really true,” Kathy Kelly told InsideEdition.com. Kelly founded an annual festival celebrating the terrifying character in Asbury Park, New Jersey. If Santa Claus “takes care of good children and delivers them rewards, Krampus takes care of the naughty children,” she said. In addition, “Krampus represents the people who are a little bit outside of what the norm is, a little bit on the fringe.”
