Nail Salon Owner Killed Chasing Customer Driving Away Without Paying
Video shows the horrifying moment Ngoc Q. Nguyen chases the car and is hit.
Shocking surveillance footage shows the moment a Las Vegas nail salon owner was run over by a customer fleeing the store without paying her $35 bill.
The fatal incident happened after suspect Krystal Whipple got a $35 manicure Saturday. When her credit card was declined, she went to her car, allegedly to get cash, and then suddenly took off.
Salon owner Ngoc Q. Nguyen and her husband came running after her. The car hit Nguyen, who was dragged under it and died from her injuries.
Whipple remains on the run, and police are asking the public for help tracking her down.
The Clark County Coroner's Office found that the 51-year-old was killed by multiple blunt-force injuries. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.
Whipple had been driving a rental car that was reported stolen three weeks ago, according to police. The car was later found abandoned by a nearby apartment complex.
