Newly Engaged Bindi Irwin Wants Her Brother to Walk Her Down the Aisle

The daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, already knows how she wants to honor her dad on her special day.
The daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, got engaged earlier this week and already knows how she wants to honor her dad on her special day.
Bindi Irwin, who turned 21 on July 24, and her longtime boyfriend, Chandler Powell, became engaged on her birthday. She shared the special news on social media with a few intimate photos that her younger brother, Robert Irwin, took of the couple from a secret hiding spot as Powell popped the question.
And its Robert who she wants to take on their dad's role at her wedding.
"It’ll be really important that Robert walks me down the aisle. That’s something that I really want to do," she told "Entertainment Tonight."
Bindi added: "And I think that’s what dad would have wanted as well.”
She explained that Robert has "been such a big part" of her life and "stepped up" when she needed him after their father died in 2006, when Bindi was just 8.
And when it comes to the traditional father-daughter dance that takes place at the reception, Bindi said she'd want to share that moment with her mom, Terri Irwin.
"My mom and I are so close. She’s my pillar of strength in life and I love her beyond description,” she said.
Bindi called the idea of the impending nuptials "wonderful."
