Oversized Floppy Hats Are the Summer's Must-Have Fashion Accessory: 'It's Like Wearing an Umbrella'
Inside Edition producer Alison Hall tried out the look.
This summer's most coveted fashion accessory allows you to hit the sand in style — and avoid a sunburn.
Ridiculously oversized sun hats seem to be popping up everywhere. Model Bella Hadid donned one as she posed topless for a photo shoot in Mexico, while Emily Ratajkowski stepped out in another in Greece.
They're even giving veils a run for their money down the aisle. Danish actress Emma Leth traded the traditional head cover for a gigantic sun hat by French designer Jacquemus at +wedding to artist Tal Rosenzweig in June.
"Getting married is a deeply private thing that you do in front of a lot of people," she told Vogue. "This is why I needed a hat that combined the feeling of hiding and sharing generosity at the same time."
Inside Edition producer Alison Hall tried out the look out at Bloomingdale's in New York City.
"It's really comfortable and covers your entire upper body basically," she said. "It's like wearing an umbrella."
She added, "There's a lot of sun coverage happening here."
