Paris Jackson Hits Back at Critics Who Blasted Her for Not Being at Janet Jackson's First TV Performance in 9 Years

The daughter of the late Michael Jackson said she wasn't at the Billboard Music Awards Sunday because no one in her family told her that her aunt would be honored.
Paris Jackson has responded to viewers who questioned her absence at the Billboard Music Awards Sunday as her aunt, Janet Jackson, received a prestigious award.
When Janet Jackson performed on television for the first time in nine years and took home Billboard’s Icon Award Sunday Night, fans were curious as to why Paris wasn't there to cheer on her aunt in Las Vegas, especially since her brother, Prince, attended, along with her grandmother Katherine and Aunt Rebbie.
Paris explained that she was MIA simply because she didn't know about it.
"No one told me about the performance or award," Paris tweeted Tuesday morning. "Not my family or my management."
She added: "I also have like a job and like a life I’m trying to provide for myself n my doggo."
The 20-year-old model also took to Instagram stories to defend herself.
“No one from my mgmt reached out to me about attending Billboards or about the award, and no one from my family did either," she said. "I had absolutely no idea until y’all spammed with hatred."
