Playful Baby Otter Tries to Escape His Mom's Swim Lesson
His mom and dad are great swimmers, but their kid doesn't appear to have much interest.
A cute baby otter could not stop chatting during his debut at the Columbus Zoo in Ohio.
The small, adorable pup, Triton, could be seen squealing throughout his big reveal and scurrying away from his parents, who were teaching him how to swim.
Animal experts say the pup, who was born on May 17, has a playful and independent personality.
Triton has been kept under special care while learning to swim.
The Asian small-clawed otter is following in some big footsteps. Both of his parents are part of an ongoing otter survival program.
Triton's mother, Asta, was born in 2008 and came to the Columbus Zoo in June 2014 from the Bronx Zoo. Triton's father, Oscar was born in 2012 and came to Columbus Zoo from Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium in 2014 as well.
