State Rep Freaks Out When Touched by Fellow Lawmaker: 'I'm a Heterosexual!'
Daryl Metcalfe took offense at a tap during a meeting of Pennsylvania state representatives.
Sometimes reaching across the aisle is not okay. Just ask Pennsylvania State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, whose meltdown is going viral after a male colleague touched his arm Tuesday.
"Look, I’m a heterosexual," the conservative lawmaker tells Democratic Rep. Matt Bradford during a recent House committee meeting. "I have a wife — I love my wife. I don’t like men, as you might. But stop touching me all the time."
Bradford, who has four children and is married to a woman, appeared shocked and lost track of what he was talking about as Metcalfe made the tap on the arm political.
"Keep your hands to yourself," Metcalfe continued. "Like, if you want to touch somebody, you have people on your side of the aisle that might like it. I don’t."
As if to reassure his colleague, Bradford then told Metcalfe: "My intent was just to beg for your permission for about 30 seconds."
"Then beg," Metcalfe replied. "Don’t touch."
"We are officially off the rails," Bradford then said, asking the committee to table the discussion for a later meeting. "I don’t know where we go from here."
In a subsequent interview Tuesday, Metcalfe said Bradford has been “continually reaching out and touching" for months and said he's asked the Democrat to stop.
"If someone touches another person, and they say, ‘Stop touching me,’ and they don’t stop, that’s serious business,” Metcalfe said.
InsideEdition.com has reached out to both representatives and is awaiting comment.
