Teen in Coma After Getting Sucked Into Water Park Drain After Possible Dare: Police

The owner of the water park extended his sympathy to the boy's family but told multiple outlets that he could not comment on the case.
A teen is in a coma after being sucked into a drain at a Texas water park, possibly when a dare went horribly wrong, according to reports.
Police said the boy, who was not identified, got stuck in the drain at the Fun Town Water Park in Crystal Beach last week.
"From my understanding, it might have been on a dare," Galveston County Sheriff Henry Troschessett told ABC13. "He's a large, 14-year-old, my size, 5'11", and he picked it up, and when he did that, he slipped into the intake."
An employee was able to shut off the drain after the child fell in, but there was still pressure keeping him inside. He was unconscious when he was finally pulled out but he soon came to.
“He told his dad, ‘I love you, sorry it happened.’ He was able to stand up. They walked him away from the area to the gurney to get into the ambulance,” Trochesset told KHOU11.
He suffered serious internal injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where he was placed in a medically induced coma.
The owner of the water park extended his sympathy to the boy's family but told multiple outlets that he could not comment on the case.
Police are investigating the incident and the circumstances surrounding the teen's fall into the drain.
