Thomas Markle Reacts to the Royal Wedding: 'My Baby Looks Beautiful'

He couldn't attend because he had a heart attack earlier this week.
Meghan Markle’s dad didn’t make it to the royal wedding, but he said he wished he could have.
"My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy,” Thomas Markle told TMZ on Saturday. “I wish I were there and I wish them all my love and all happiness.”
Thomas Markle was going to walk Meghan down the aisle at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, but after suffering a heart attack last week, he underwent surgery on Wednesday, according to reports.
Meghan announced the change this past Thursday.
Instead, Meghan walked solo at the beginning of the aisle before joining arms with her father-in-law, Prince Charles, who walked with her to the altar.
Meghan’s father made headlines earlier this week when it was alleged that he staged paparazzi photos showing him preparing for the wedding. But Megan’s half-sister, Samantha Grant, later claimed she set them up.
There was much speculation in the weeks leading up to the big day about whether any of Meghan’s family would be present at the wedding due to her estranged relationship with her half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., and Grant.
Markle Jr. called his sister’s wedding a “fake fairytale” in an open letter earlier in May.
Neither sibling was invited to the wedding.
Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother, was her only family member in attendance.
