Tom Brady Under Criticism for Jumping off Cliff With His Daughter

The video is sparking big reactions among Brady’s 6.3 million Instagram followers, with many worrying that he put her in danger jumping into water with rocks.

Tom Brady is in hot water with some fans after jumping off a cliff in Costa Rica with his 6-year-old daughter.

Vivian Brady, 6, was by her dad's side as the two prepared to take a plunge.

The Super Bowl champ asks, "Ready?"

Vivian nods yes.

They count off, but then Vivian looks like she hesitates. As her quarterback dad leaps off, she's given a little yank before falling into the water with him.

“If Vivi is going to be an Olympic champion one day, it probably won't be synchronized diving,” Brady joked on Instagram when he posted the video over the weekend. “Daddy always gives her a 10 though!”

The video is sparking big reactions among Brady’s 6.3 million Instagram followers, with many worrying that he put her in danger jumping into water with rocks. A physics professor estimated for Inside Edition that the jump was about 15-16 feet down.

Even his famous friend Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson weighed in, writing, “You KNOW I have complete faith in you as a man, friend, player and father -- but this just gave me anxiety. Geeezus.”

Surfer Kelly Slater asked, “that shoulder ok?”

Fellow quarterback Brett Favre added, “she is a 10 but old dad gets a (thumbs down).”

But Brady also has lots of defenders, like the “Today” show's Dylan Dreyer.

"If he were to let go of her, and she'd chickened out, she could have tumbled down the rocks,” she said.

"Good Morning America" host Robin Roberts said, "He would never do anything to put his daughter in danger."
