Tom Hanks Takes On 'Neighborly' Role as Fred Rogers in First Photo From New Biopic
Of course, Hanks dons the signature cardigan sweater.
The first image of Tom Hanks as Mister Rogers has been revealed.
In the photo, released by Sony Pictures Thursday, Hanks is donning Rogers’ signature red cardigan, blue tie, khakis and tennis shoes.
“Mister Rogers' Neighborhood” ran for 31 seasons on PBS before going off the air in 2000.
The yet-to-be-titled Mister Rogers biopic is slated to hit theaters in October 2019.
The beloved children’s show host was the subject of the critically acclaimed documentary “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” which was released this past summer.
Fred Rogers passed away in 2003 at 74.
