1-Year-Old Hospitalized After He's Bitten by Rattlesnake Hiding Among His Toys

Authorities say mounting temperatures are causing snakes to seek shelter.
A 1-year-old boy in Texas has been hospitalized after he was bitten by a rattlesnake hiding with his toys.
The boy, who has not been identified, was rushed to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after he was bitten on the hand. According to KTAB-TV, his hand was severely swollen and there have not yet been updates on his condition.
Police scanners reportedly called the incident a "top priority."
He had been playing outside his home in Abilene when the baby rattlesnake attacked.
Neglect is not believed to be an issue in the case.
