The 28-year-old, on-again, off-again girlfriend of Jim Carrey was found in her California home with a pills and a note found near her body.
The on-again, off-again girlfriend of actor Jim Carrey was found dead in her California home after an apparent suicide, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
Cathriona White, 28, was discovered by authorities in her Sherman Oaks home about 8:40 p.m. on Monday, Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said.
Carrey said in a statement that he was "shocked and saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona."
It continued: "She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."
Pills and a note were found next to White's body, Winter said. He declined to specify what type of pills were found on the scene. The contents of the note found were not immediately clear.
The cause and manner of White's death will be determined pending the results from the autopsy, which could take up to 10 weeks to come back, Winter said.
Two friends reportedly found White, who had recently broken up with Carrey, 53, after dating for a second time, TMZ reported.
