Driver Miraculously Survives Crash That Split His Car in Two
One driver is lucky to be alive after he lost control of his car and struck a tree causing it to split in two.
A Florida man is lucky to be alive after a terrifying car accident that split his car in half.
The Winter Haven Police Department explained on Facebook: “He started to slide on the wet roadways as he negotiated the curve. Pino over-corrected losing control of the vehicle and he started to skid sideways. Ultimately, the vehicle struck a curb and left the roadway."
After veering off the road, his car smashed into a tree.
The police continued: "The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to split in two with the front engine compartment on one side of the tree and the vehicle’s cab coming to a rest on the opposite side of the tree."
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Police said the wet roadway and speed appeared to have been a factor in the accident and that an investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed.
The driver was airlifted to a regional hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
