At least three people are dead and several are injured after a car slammed into a college homecoming parade in Oklahoma on Saturday morning.
Witnesses attending the event for Oklahoma State University in Stillwater told reporters they saw the vehicle barrel toward the crowd at a high rate of speed as bystanders screamed and tried to run out of the way.
Witness Konda Walker told the Stillwater News Press she saw victims 'flying 30 feet into the air like rag dolls.'
Another witness reported that the driver struck a police motorcycle, the Associated Press reports.
The driver who allegedly plowed into the parade was reportedly not a part of the day's festivities but instead appeared from a side street before colliding with the parade route at an intersection.
Witness Geoff Haxton described the mayhem on Twitter while posting photos from what he called the 'nightmare scenario', including one he claims depicts the car that allegedly slammed into the parade route.
The official Twitter account for the school--which is well known for its athletic programs--posted not long after the 10 a.m. tragedy.
'Oklahoma State University is saddened by the tragic parade incident earlier this morning. Our thoughts & prayers are with those affected,' read the school's post.
