Did President Obama Purposefully Leave Out Hope Solo as He Honored World Cup Team?
President Obama honored team USA's World Cup winning squad at the White House but failed to call Hope Solo's name.
The fabled U.S. Women's World Cup winning soccer team was honored at The White House on Tuesday morning with the president singling out several members of the team by name.
But one named he failed to mention was Hope Solo, the hero goalie of the team.
Was it a deliberate slight?
Solo has had a stormy domestic life, including assault charges for a fight with her half-sister and nephew in 2014. Solo denies the allegations and the case was dismissed earlier this year.
Solo still seemed thrilled to be at The White House posting many photos of her day to Instagram.
President Obama also found himself in hot water when he said that this team taught the world “playing like a girl means you’re a bad ass.” The Commander-in-Chief later apologized for using the term “bad ass.”
