California Exchange Student, 23, is Among Those Killed in Paris Massacre

A 23-year-old California woman who was in France as part of a university exchange program was killed in Friday's terrorist attacks in Paris.
California State University at Long Beach verified the gut-wrenching news Saturday afternoon that junior design major Nohemi Gonzalez had died.
"I’m deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Long Beach State University student Nohemi Gonzalez. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this sad time,” said President Jane Close Conoley. “Our university stands with our nearly eighty foreign exchange students from France as they struggle with this tragedy."
The exact cause and location of the El Monte, California native's death were not immediately revealed.
Attackers laid siege to at least six locations in Paris including a concert hall, soccer stadium, and trendy street of busy cafes.
Another American, New Orelans businessowner Helen Jane Wilson, was attending a concert at Bataclan hall when attackers opened fire in the venue and killed over 80 people in what was the bloodiest of the attacks, NBC reports. Wilson was shot in the leg and taken to surgery Friday night.
Gonzalez was in France attending the Strate College of Design, a school less than 30 miles outside Paris in the town of Sèvres.
According to a release fom Cal State Long Beach, a vigil was set for Sunday at 4 pm on Sunday at the university to mourn Gonzalez’s passing and to grieve for all the victims of the atrocious attack.
