Man Who Said He'd Spend Powerball Money on 'Hookers and Cocaine' Reveals What He'd Really Buy
Issac Carranza, a married dad, told INSIDE EDITION he didn't know he was on live TV when he made the remark.
A man who told a reporter that he’d buy “hookers and cocaine” if he won the Powerball jackpot says he would actually spend the money on his loved ones and their community.
Issac Carranza was waiting to buy a ticket in Las Vegas, Nevada last week when a reporter asked him what he’d buy if he won the massive jackpot, which has since grown to $1.5 billion.
“A bunch of hookers and cocaine,” he told the stunned Fox5 reporter.
Isaac told INSIDE EDITION that he didn't know he was live on TV at that time and he immediately apologized to the reporter.
“I wasn’t thinking,” he said. “I’m a smartass.”
His wife told IE that she’d left him alone in the store for about 20 minutes, and when she returned, she couldn’t believe what he’d told the news channel.
“I thought it was hilarious,” she said.
The couple said they’ll play the lottery again this week. When asked what they’d spend the money on if they won, his wife shot back: “Not on hookers and cocaine!”
Isaac added: “I would definitely help out my mother, my father, my family, my friends, and give back to my community in Salinas, California.”
The Powerball lottery jackpot reached a staggering $1.5 billion on Tuesday, making it the largest lottery prize in U.S. history.
The Powerball lottery drawing will be held on Wednesday.
