An African lion and Siberian tiger cub will be raised side-by-side at Six Flags Great Adventure Safari in New Jersey.

When the mothers of both cubs, who haven’t been named, failed to care for them, the team at the amusement park stepped in to hand-raise them.

The lion is native to Africa, while tigers are generally native to eastern Russia, China and North Korea.

Dr. Ken Keiffer, a Six Flags veterinarian, told NBC Philadelphia: “Raising the cubs together helps to develop their socialization skills, and will enhance their chances of being successfully introduced to their own species at the safari when they are a bit older.”
