U.S. Men's Soccer Team Mocks Abby Wambach After DUI Arrest

The soccer star was arrested in Oregon on Saturday after she allegedly drove through a red light.

Members of the United States Mens National Soccer team are poking fun at Abby Wambach’s recent DUI bust.

Sarcastic remarks appear to be payback after past comments she made about men's coach, former German international Jurgen Klinsmann for bringing "a bunch of these foreign guys" to play on America’s men's team.

Players from USMT came to their coach’s defense and blasted Wambach’s on social media following her bust.

Klinsmann has brought on many foreign-born players that were born on U.S. military bases. He has also brought on players that were born and grew up in other parts of the world but had at least one American parent, which, according to FIFA rules, allows them to pick a national team to play for.

Wambach has been critical of these decisions, telling HBO’s Bill Simmons in December: “The way that he has changed and brought in these foreign guys, it’s just not something that I believe in.”

Cops in Portland, Oregon arrested the 35-year-old late Saturday night after she allegedly drove through a red light and failed a sobriety test.

She posted an apology on Facebook.

There's already fallout for the former Women’s captain.

You won't be seeing her in any Mini Cooper commercials anytime soon. The car maker has yanked her TV ads off the air.

Gatorade, which Wambach also endorses, called her Facebook statement “heartfelt.”

Wambach is one of soccer's best known faces. Last year, President Obama honored her and the U.S. Women's National team after they won the World Cup.

Wambach played her last game in New Orleans four months ago. Since retiring, she's been on the road campaigning for Hillary Clinton.
