Chris Christie broke his silence Tuesday about the crude comments made by Donald Trump that were caught on a hot mic.

“It is completely indefensible, and I won’t defend it and haven’t defended it,” he said.

The New Jersey governor, one of Trump’s staunchest supporters, was a no-show at Trump’s debate on Sunday night.

In an interview with WFAN Radio, he said, "I was there when he found out about it and there's no question in my mind he's embarrassed by it.”

He added, "But I think that he should have been much more direct and much more focused on saying, just saying 'I'm sorry and only I'm sorry and that's what I would have done.'"

But Christie said that, “at this point,” he is still standing by Trump. "I've known him for a long time and I'm really upset by what I heard, but in the end, this election is about bigger issues than just that, so at this point I still support him."

His comments come as Nancy O'Dell is also speaking out about Trump's remarks

The Entertainment Tonight host addressed the comments on Monday’s show: “There is no room for objectification of women, or anyone for that matter. Not even in the locker room.”

O'Dell is the married woman Trump was trash-talking about on the bus with her former Access Hollywood co-host Billy Bush.

On the 2005 tape, Trump admits that he once tried to seduce O'Dell. “I moved on her, actually. You know, she was down in Palm Beach. I moved on her, and I failed,” Trump is heard saying.

“I'll admit it. I did try and f*** her. She was married. I moved on her very heavily. I moved on her like a b****. But I couldn't get there. And she was married,” he said.

Trump continued, “And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything.”
