First Lady Joins LeBron James and Cleveland Cavaliers in White House Edition of Mannequin Challenge
It was a busy day in the White House.
Michelle Obama joined in on the mannequin challenge craze with the Cleveland Cavaliers Thursday, freezing next to LeBron James as the reigning NBA champs were honored at the White House.
In the latest high-profile video from the mannequin challenge craze, James looked as if he was taking a selfie with the first lady as teammate J.R. Smith attempted a photo bomb.
The 2016 NBA champions, along with Ohio Governor John Kasich, then met with the president, a huge basketball fan.
“Give it up for the world champion Cleveland Cavaliers!,” Obama said on the South Lawn on an unusually warm November afternoon. “That's right. I said 'world champion' and 'Cleveland' in the same sentence. That's what we're talking about when we talk about hope and change."
After a series of playful roasts on the team and the players, the Cavs presented Obama with his own team jersey, No. 16.
Obama's meeting with the team came after the president met with Donald Trump and his wife Melania for the first time.
Melania had tea with Michelle Obama in the yellow oval room, a White House tradition. The departing first lady gave the former model advice on raising children at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Barron Trump, 10, will be the first young boy in the White House since John F. Kennedy Jr. in 1961.
After the White House, Melania held hands with her husband on Capitol Hill as House Speaker Paul Ryan showed the Trumps the inspiring view from the balcony where he will be inaugurated January 20.
Trumps son-in law Jared Kushner was seen strolling along the White House South Lawn with Obama’s Chief Of Staff Dennis McDonough, leading to speculation that Ivanka’s husband might take on the role.
