Beaver Somehow Sneaks Into Dollar Store, Trashes Holiday Decorations Aisle
Police wrote on Facebook: "The suspect attempted to flee the area, but was apprehended by animal control."
A Grinch-inspired wild beaver somehow wandered into a Maryland dollar store — and proceeded to trash the Christmas aisle.
"As a law enforcement officer, you just never know what your next call may be," the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office, who responded to the scene, wrote on Facebook.
The beaver somehow strolled straight through the front door of the Charlotte Hall shop, before it started making a mess of the holiday section.
Some of the store's merchandise was apparently damaged, cops wrote.
As authorities responded to the scene, "the suspect attempted to flee the area, but was apprehended by animal control," they joked.
The rodent was later handed over to a wildlife rehabilitator in hopes it can be released back into the wild.
