The boy was unharmed.
A Milwaukee bus driver saved the day after finding a 2-year-old boy wandering alone.
Duane Butler was on his regular route when he reportedly saw the unaccompanied toddler at about 6:30 a.m. on July 4 and stopped his bus.
A passenger on the early morning bus got out to check on the boy who said he was lost.
The passenger brought the boy aboard and immediately called police, Fox 5 reported.
Officers then went around the immediate with the boy searching for his home, according to reports.
The boy had reportedly slipped out of his home while his family was still sleeping, authorities said.
Thanks to Butler, the youngster made it home safely.
