An Arizona family is in mourning after a toddler fell into a filthy pool and died.
During a family function, the 14-month-old fell into the pool, which was not enclosed by a fence.
According to KTTV, witnesses said they had no idea he'd even gone in because the water was so filthy. They also did not know how long he had been under.
A relative pulled him out and performed CPR before first responders arrived.
"You never actually think it's going to happen next door to you," a neighbor told AZFamily.
He was taken to a nearby Phoenix-area hospital, where he later died.
Fire officials said the incident serves as a reminder to keep your pool clean outside of summer.
