Bears Set Up Den in the Middle of Massachusetts Highway

State police had to shut down a piece of Route 2 in Templeton, while state environmental police removed the bears from the median and tranquilized them.
“Everything went beary well.”
That’s what Massachusetts State Police tweeted Thursday, after moving a family of bears that set up a den right in the middle of a four lane highway.
State police had to shut down a section of Route 2 in Templeton while state environmental police tranquilized the bears and removed them from the median, the AP reported.
Officials say they moved the bears not only for their safety but also for the safety of motorists.
The bears were relocated to the nearby state forest.
