Brother of Jeff Bezos’ Girlfriend Says He Didn’t Leak Lewd Texts
The brother of Lauren Sanchez, Jeff Bezos’ girlfriend, says he had nothing to do with their leaked text messages.
The furor over who leaked intimate photos and texts of the world's richest man to a supermarket tabloid is centered on Michael Sanchez, the brother of Jeff Bezos' girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez.
The Daily Beast reported, according to sources, that Michael Sanchez was responsible for the leak.
But Michael told Howard Kurtz, host of Fox News' "Media Buzz," that he didn't do it. "Sanchez says 'No way would I be involved in a leak that would be bad for my sister,''' Kurtz said.
The attorney for American Media Inc., the company that owns the National Enquirer, denied claims by Bezos that the publishing giant had blackmailed and extorted the head of Amazon.
"It absolutely is not extortion and not blackmail," lawyer Elkan Abramowitz told George Stephanopoulos Sunday on ABC's "This Week."
"The story was given to The National Enquirer by a reliable source that had been giving information to the National Enquirer for seven years prior to this story. It was a source that was well known to both Mr. Bezos and Miss Sanchez," Abramowitz said.
He declined to name the source.
"I can't discuss who the source was. It's confidential within AMI, so I'm not going to answer who the source was. It was somebody close to both Bezos and Miss Sanchez."
