Did Miranda Lambert Throw Shade at Ex Blake Shelton in ACM Performance?
The singer "got the hell out of Oklahoma" and is now with a hot young New York City cop.
Miranda Lambert made her public debut with her new husband at the ACM Awards Sunday — and she didn't seem to mind that ex Blake Shelton was also in the house.
The 35-year-old singer walked the carpet arm-in-arm with Brendan McLoughlin, a 27-year-old NYPD cop. Lambert shined bright in a neon green dress and McLoughlin donned a form-fitting black suit. The two were married in January after a short relationship.
Shelton wasn't too far away. He was snapped inside the venue cozying up to his girlfriend of more than three years, pop star Gwen Stefani. He also performed a tune for the audience.
But it was Lambert's performance that got people talking. She took the stage to sing "Little Red Wagon," and many think she changed up some lyrics to send a message to her ex.
Instead of singing the line "I live in Oklahoma," Lambert belted "I got the hell out of Oklahoma" while tapping her ring finger.
Lambert and Shelton famously lived together in Oklahoma while they were married from 2011 to 2015.
Lambert had sung the switched-up lyrics in previous performances, but country music fans wondered if she was making a pointed statement by singing them on national television.
One Twitter user wrote, "Miranda Lambert was ice cold on the #ACMs with her line about getting the hell out of Oklahoma."
Another tweeted, "Miranda Lambert just sang "got the hell out of Oklahoma" with Blake Shelton in the room and I have so much respect."
Others wondered if she took it too far. One tweeter posted, "Can we all just agree that @mirandalambert is petty and childish?"
