What polar vortex?

Petr Kapoun, a 54-year-old freediver, filmed himself cutting a hole in a frozen lake in the Czech Republic and then swimming under a sheet of ice, wearing just a Speedo.

The mesmerizing video shows Kapoun deftly gliding beneath the ice covering Lake Milada and following a yellow string to a second hole before pulling himself out.

Freediving is a type of underwater swimming that relies on holding the breath without using an apparatus to assist.

Kapoun posed for a photo in the frozen lake to commemorate the swim as well.
