Father of 19-Year-Old Hit-and-Run Victim Angry Other Car Drove Away
The father of Jackson Kelley, who was critically injured in a horrific car crash in Florida that sent his vehicle flying through the air and rolling over, is keeping vigil by his son's bedside.
After his son's car was hit by another vehicle and sent spinning violently through the air, one dad is angry by what led to his child's critical injuries.
Surveillance footage shows Jackson Kelley, a 19-year-old college student, driving down a road in Florida when a van attempted to make a left turn across the street. The van edged into oncoming traffic and Kelley's car tried to swerve out of the way. But the van collided with Kelley's car, which was sent flying through the air. It rolled over several times and landed upside down.
The van is then seen driving back down the road in the other direction.
Jackson Kelley's father, Michael, told Inside Edition he is angry that the other driver didn't stay at the scene.
In a 911 call, a first responder told the dispatcher than Kelley was unconscious and had gone through the car's sunroof. Kelly was rushed to a Sarasota hospital with critical injuries.
Michael, who has been keeping vigil at his son's bedside, said Jackson "is showing improvements."
Police say they are still looking for a 2003 Kia Sedona with damage to the front end.
