Former Philadelphia Phillies slugger Ryan Howard came out of retirement to reveal the gender of his soon-to-be-born baby.

With his wife, Krystle, lobbing a slow pitch, Howard swung for the fences and whacked the ball into a shower of pink dust.

He shared the reveal on social media, saying he "Couldn't be more excited."

Friends and family roared in delight as his pregnant wife dropped to her knees, laughing.

The former Phillie was nicknamed "The Big Piece" and played first base for Philadelphia. He spent his entire major league career playing for the franchise, from 2004 to 2016.
