Could Donald Trump be eating too much red meat?
When he made his surprise visit to Manhattan’s 21 Club Tuesday night, he indulged in the “21 Burger,” which has 84 grams of fat and more than 1,200 calories.
New York Cardiologist Dr. Steven Reisman told Inside Edition: "Occasionally it is okay. You have to limit your intake of saturated fats and certainly a big hamburger would be going over that, so that is something I would not recommend on a regular basis."
Trump loves beef and fast food. He also sold his famous Trump Steaks, which saw him dabble into the meat industry in the early 2000s.
On the campaign trail, he regularly chowed down on fried chicken, tacos bowls and burgers, which he brought up during a recent appearance on The Dr. Oz Show, where he said: “I really need to lose 15 to 20 pounds.”
A letter released by his personal physician stated that Trump weighs 236 pounds. He takes a low dose aspirin to reduce the risk of a stroke or heart attack, as well as the cholesterol-lowering drug statin.
"We propose he implement the “30 and 5 program” which is 30 minutes of rapid walking five days-a-week,"Dr. Reisman told Inside Edition. "For a heart healthy diet we really like the Mediterranean Diet, which is focused on Omega-3 fatty acid foods, such as fish and fiber."
