The busiest shopping weekend of the year is approaching — but it doesn't have to be stressful.
RetailMeNot and its Shopping and Trends Expert Sara Skirboll are teaming up with Inside Edition to help shoppers save time and money throughout the hectic holiday season.
"Before you hit the mall, I always recommend you have a plan in place," Skirboll said. "Know exactly who you’re going to shop for and what you’re planning to buy.”
She suggested downloading the free RetailMeNot app — which uses GPS technology to alert shoppers to deals that are close by — to find gifts for loved ones. Take a few minutes to look at the app for ways to save before hitting the shops, she said.
For dads, she suggests electronics. According to RetailMeNot's research, more than 50 percent of people are hoping to get a new electronic this year.
"Best Buy is offering $5 cash back if you spend $30 or more with the RetailMeNot app," she said.
For moms, she suggested updating her wardrobe or picking up an item for her home.
"Go to Macy's," she said. "They have everything under the sun."
With the RetailMeNot app, the store is offering 20 percent off, plus $10 cash back if you spend $40 or more.
