Horse Airlifted to Safety After Falling Down Embankment
Officials described it as a "challenging" rescue because of the steed's size.
This horse is lucky to be alive after taking a big tumble and being airlifted to safety.
Sonny the thoroughbred recently got stuck in a fence on his owner's property in Los Angeles. Neighbors tried to help Sonny and cut the fence to release him. The aid went awry though, and Sonny took a tumble 30 feet down an embankment.
Rescue crews sprang into action.
After Sonny was sedated, workers from Los Angeles Animal Services strapped him in a harness and lifted him up into the air. Officials described it as a "challenging" rescue because of the steed's size.
Sonny walked away with a few scratches and is now on the road to recovery.
