It's a guacamole emergency.

Avocados are in short supply and it's causing prices of the tasty green fruit to skyrocket. As a result, some people are turning to alternative ingredients so they don't break the bank making guacamole.

Chef Ashton Keefe has some hacks for mimicking the popular dip in an avocado shortage.

She said a good alternative is peas. Mixing them with garlic, tomatoes and onions give the dip the traditional flavor. Then top it with salt, olive oil, cilantro and lime.

Zucchini squash and tomatillos are other tasty alternatives. Blending them together will give your dip a similar consistency to avocados. Just mix them up with all the other ingredients.
