In her reporting, Deborah Norville met the Yang family and got a glimpse into their lives.
When then-President Clinton made his historic visit to China in 1998, Inside Edition anchor Deborah Norville was there to catch all the action.
In her reporting, she met the Yang family and got a glimpse into their lives. At the time, 12-year-old Xi Yang was immersed in her homework, which she spent three hours a day doing.
So where is Xi today? Deborah recently got a surprise message from her, 21 years after they met.
She came into Inside Edition's New York office for an emotional reunion with Deborah, bringing her family along with her.
Xi spoke about what she remembers of that interview more than two decades ago. "I was not too happy to take time for [it]," she said with a laugh.
She added that it's nice to see images of her family from back then.
