Kind Officer Plays Piano for 93-Year-Old Whose Home Was Burglarized
The elderly man was grateful for the visit.
A kind police officer in England played the piano for a 93-year-old man whose home had been burglarized this week.
Two Nottinghamshire community support officers visited the man’s Mansfield home to check on him after a burglary. Visiting vulnerable people has become practice for the department.
Officer Craig Bull went above the call of duty when he spotted a piano in the elderly victim’s home, however.
“I noticed he had a piano with music open - one of his favorite Chopin pieces he said, a nocturne,” Bull wrote on Facebook. “I told him it was my late grandma's favorite too!”
Bull said he offered so play for him and the elderly man was glad he did. In a video, the man happily watches as Bull plays the song.
“It made his day, as you can see in the video you can see how much he appreciated it. Job satisfaction,” Bull wrote.
Bull said the man also shared stories about being pilot in the war, and how he lost his wife on Christmas Eve a few years ago.
“He was really pleased that we had checked in on him to see that he was OK,” Bull wrote.
