Man Imprisoned for Punching Newborn Daughter to Death Is Allegedly Killed by Fellow Inmate

Liam Deane, 22, was convicted of murder earlier this year.
A U.K. man who was convicted of brutally bashing his newborn baby to death earlier this year has been killed in prison.
Liam Deane, 22, punched and squeezed his 2-day-old daughter to death last July. He was found dead in his prison cell at HMP Leeds on Sunday, according to a report from local police.
After Luna was found dead from "catastrophic brain injuries," Deane reportedly admitted to killing her when she wouldn't stop crying.
Reports at the time said Deane had been watching the baby alone in their Wakefield, England, home.
Last month, he was sentenced to 10 years to life in prison.
That sentence came to an abrupt end when authorities say fellow inmate John Westland allegedly killed Deane.
Westland has been charged in Deane's death and has a hearing scheduled for Thursday.
