Man Thanks Dog for Helping Him Win $1 Million

“I would never have stopped for my lottery ticket if it wasn’t for him," Moises Duarte of North Carolina said of his "million-dollar dog."
This North Carolina man is $1 million richer, thanks to his dog.
Moises Duarte of Henderson said dropping off his Shih Tzu at his sister’s house in Durham led him to buy the lottery ticket that changed his life, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.
“He’s my million-dollar dog,” Duarte said. “I would never have stopped for my lottery ticket if it wasn’t for him."
He explained that after he dropped his lucky pup off, he stopped by the Buy Quick Food Mart and bought a $10 Red Hot Million$ scratch-off ticket.
When he got back to his car and scratched the ticket, he was shocked to find he had won.
"I couldn't believe it when I saw what I won," Duarte said. "I kept looking at it and looking at it."
