Massachusetts Newlywed Dies on Honeymoon After Being Swept Away in Flash Flood

"It is with heavy hearts that we have concluded our search for Josh," the family said in a statement.
The body of a man who was swept away by raging floodwaters while on his honeymoon was found Saturday
Josh Byrne of Hudson, Massachusetts, died while vacationing in Costa Rica with his new wife, Bianca, according to a GoFundMe page set up in his name.
"It is with heavy hearts that we have concluded our search for Josh," the family said in a statement. "After working around the clock, our search and rescue mission ended today with the recovery of Josh’s remains."
Bianca and Josh were attempting to drive across a bridge in Playa Dominicalito earlier this week when a flash flood carried them both away, according to WCVB.
Bianca managed to get to safety, but Josh was tragically was swept up in the current.
They were just married last weekend on a New Hampshire farm.
"Josh holds a special place in all of our hearts and will always be remembered for his helpful and caring demeanor, his ability to make friends in any setting, and his love for his wife, Bianca," the family's statement read.
So far, more than $14,000 have been raised on GoFundMe to cover Josh's funeral costs.
