19-Year-Old Hits High Notes During Brain Surgery to Preserve Her Ability to Sing

Kira Iaconetti literally sang her way through surgery in an effort to preserve her passion to sing. Doctors discovered a rare tumor in the 19-year-old's brain that was causing seizures when she listened to music or sang. She says "it's a cruel, sick joke" but doctors at Seattle Children's Hospital performed a specialized surgery that had her wake up and sing, allowing them to steer clear of areas in the brain she needs to produce music.
