2-Year-Old Girl and Mom Discover New Species of Bug in Backyard

Little Sylvie Beckers made a scientific breakthrough. It began while she was gardening with her mom at their Kentucky home three years ago. Sylvie overwatered the flower bed and caused some dead bugs to rise to the surface. Her mom, Laura Sullivan-Beckers, is an assistant professor of biology at Murray State University and a self-proclaimed lover of bugs. She decided to look into these unusual insects further.
