28-Year-Old COVID-19 Patient Maya Ramirez Survives Double Lung Transplant

Maya Ramirez, 28, is the first American COVID-19 patient to receive a double lung transplant, which she underwent surgery for at Northwestern University Medical Center. Speaking at a press conference, Ramirez expressed her gratitude to the grieving family of the donor from whom she received the lungs.
