3rd-Graders Scream With Excitement Over New Backpacks for School

Students arriving at their first day of school in Ohio were in for a surprise. Third-graders gathered for a special assembly with news anchors Matt Barnes and Monica Day from NBC4 in Columbus, and they had no idea what was in store for them. The station's "stuff the backpack" campaign provided new backpacks for every child, and they were filled with all the supplies they'll need for the new school year. Volunteers spent hours filling the bags with notebooks, markers, scissors, and pencils.
