US Coast Guard Rescues Ex-Football Player in Kayak

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a kayaker stranded in the Gulf of Mexico. Former University of South Carolina quarterback Chris Smelley set out on a kayak fishing adventure florida. He was not prepared for the rough seas. He did not have a cell phone, watch nor a life jacket with him. His wife began to worry about his whereabouts and contacted authorities who launched a search. The ordeal lasted 12 hours.
